Run a Fulton County Case Search

Start with whatever solid detail you hold: a case number, a citation, a party name, or an attorney. From there, run a Fulton County case search and read the public summary, which names the court, the case type, its status, the filings, and hearing events. A name alone is thin. Narrow by court and date, then check the result header against the matter you know. Keep expectations realistic. The public portal does not carry every case or document, so the Fulton County clerk remains the place for official copies, older files, missing images, and anything that needs lawful access beyond what the public sees.

Searching Fulton Cases by Name

Head to the MyCase Name tab, which handles both people and businesses. Last name is the anchor for a person. First, Middle, and Birth Date help trim the list. Use them when you already know them and they are appropriate to use. Businesses go under Business Name instead. Always set Court to Fulton County before trusting any local conclusion.

  1. Open MyCase and choose the Name tab.
  2. Enter the last name, then add a first name or initial if known.
  3. Select Fulton County and one of its Criminal & Citation, Civil, Family, or Probate categories.
  4. Use All, Open, or Closed and a filing-date range when the result list is broad.
  5. Try sounds-like only when spelling is uncertain, then review the wider match set with care.
  6. Open the likely result and confirm court, role, case type, file date, and caption.

Results stop at 1,000. If you hit that ceiling, the Fulton County case search is too broad rather than finished.

Fulton MyCase Search Controls

MyCase offers three tabs. They are Case, Name, and Attorney. The court selector lists Fulton County, Fulton Circuit Court, and Fulton Superior Court. No Rochester, Akron, Kewanna, or Fulton town court shows up on the official list. When you do not know which court maintains the file, pick the countywide option. A city or town name will not stand in for the court filter. The official search template displays the field labels, masks, status controls, and category choices. The interface actually uses them.

Advanced Search Options adds status and file-date controls. Fulton categories are Criminal & Citation, Civil, Family, and Probate. The sounds-like option widens last, first, and middle name matches. CAPTCHA may appear after you submit. These controls exist for a focused manual search, not an automation interface.

Searching by Case Number

The Case tab takes one identifier at a time. It accepts a Case Number, Citation Number, or Cross Reference. One per search, no stacking. Fulton is county code 25, with Circuit using 25C01 and Superior using 25D01. Current uniform numbers follow Indiana's county, court, year-month, case-type, and sequence layout. A representative Circuit form is 25C01-YYMM-XX-##### and a Superior form is 25D01-YYMM-XX-#####. The letters and sequence depend on the actual case.

Indiana Administrative Rule 8 governs uniform case numbers. The official search tips allow you to drop hyphens and leading zeros. A trailing wildcard works. An arbitrary leading wildcard does not. Fulton computerized records go back only to 1989. Older numbers may need a clerk search or a look at legacy indexing. Never guess missing number segments.

Traffic matters carry a trap: a citation number is not the court cause number. The clerk issues the cause number. It begins with 25D01. Confirm the matching header before you rely on any event.

Fulton Identifier Search Order

Each identifier answers a different question. An exact case number is usually the cleanest route, since it embeds the maintaining court. A citation number can pull up a traffic or ordinance record. A cross-reference can tie one identifier to another. A name search casts the widest net. It may surface a person in a role you did not expect.

Search choiceBest useCheck after opening
Case NumberA known Fulton court file25C01 or 25D01, type, status
Citation NumberA known ticket or citationCourt cause number and case type
Cross ReferenceA linked identifierLabel and relationship to the case

AttorneyA known lawyer or bar numberCourt and case relationship

MyCase also has an Attorney tab. Its fields are Last, First, Middle, and Number, with the bar-number field capped at 20 characters. Check attorney results against the Fulton court and case header anyway.

What a Fulton Case Search Returns

A Fulton County case search returns a structured summary. Header data comes first, then modules that fit that case: Parties, Charges, Bonds, Events, CrossRefs, Related cases, Financial Information, and document links. What displays publicly varies by case type. A visible event does not promise a downloadable filing.

Case NumberThe county and court code, year-month, type, and sequence identifier.
CourtFulton Circuit Court or Fulton Superior Court, not merely the county.
Case TypeThe Odyssey code and its public label where shown.
StatusThe portal state and status date. Closed does not settle every later financial issue.
File DateThe initiating filing date recorded in the system.
Style or CaptionThe public case title, which must be read with party roles.
EventsDated filings, notices, hearings, orders, judgments, dispositions, or sentencing entries.
DocumentsPublic images allowed for that case type and event, if any.
Financial InformationDisplayed balances and transactions that may not be current.

A charge is not a conviction. A setting is not a result. A judgment does not always prove satisfaction. When the distinction matters, read the later events and get the actual order.

Fulton Case Summary Modules

The official MyCase template explains why results need to be read in layers. Events fall into CaseEvent, HearingEvent, sentencing, judgment, or disposition families. A hearing can carry many fields. These include date, time, judge, session, cancellation, and result. An event document may list metadata. Its download permission stays false. The direct MyCase search is the public entry point for Fulton County records.

One sanitized Fulton civil sample held initiation, filing, service, motion or affidavit, order, and notice events. Some of them carried public document arrays. A sanitized older criminal sample showed converted events, later judgment and disposition entries, charge fields, and no downloadable public document array. Case type and event permissions clearly shape what a search returns. Remember this: a public event without an image can still point to a document. It sits in the official Fulton County court file.

Statewide vs County Case Search

Fulton County has no separate local case-search database. MyCase serves as both the statewide public portal and the remote Fulton search layer, and selecting Fulton County narrows the statewide system to local matters. The county clerk is not a rival portal. The clerk supplies official, certified, missing, or older records and gives current answers about the maintained file.

Certified copies come from Dawn Ziemek, the Fulton County Clerk of Courts. Her office sits at 815 Main Street in Rochester, Indiana. Call first. The county's current page lists 574-223-2911. The office is open weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Indiana's state directory shows a different clerk number. Confirm the phone on the county page itself. Do that before mailing any payment or personal documents for a court docket request.

Fulton Search Limits and CAPTCHA

The official MyCase search tips suggest tightening a docket search with court, case type, status, date range, or a fuller name. The same page also covers wildcards and how to enter a case number.

The current help pages recommend Chrome, Firefox, or Edge. Internet Explorer will not work with MyCase. Give a recent filing time to sync. Refresh if timing matters for your Fulton County court docket search. Before results appear, the system shows a CAPTCHA. It is a step the court uses to block bots. MyCase terms also bar commercial use and data mining. Ordinary public case lookup stays free and requires no account.

No result does not mean no case exists. The docket could be confidential, sealed, expunged, newly filed, or filed under a different case number. It might also be too old for the electronic index. It might belong to another county or to federal court. Broaden or refine your search first. Then ask the Fulton County clerk whether a public docket exists at all.

Fulton Search Is Not Official

MyCase states plainly that its display is not the official court record. That gap matters. A certified order, a full set of filings, a current balance, or proof that an event happened: all require the clerk. The public case summary is still the best tool for finding the case. It also names the exact document to request. It simply cannot certify itself.

The MyCase terms of use spell out the service's limits and restrictions.

When you contact the clerk, bring the case number, the court, and the event date. Include a description of the document too. Want a transcript? Ask the court reporter or the court that maintains the record. ICOR is a different animal entirely. It tracks annual court statistics, not individual cases. It is never a person or case lookup tool.

Access to Restricted Fulton Cases

Indiana Access Rule 5 shields confidential cases and documents, treatment records, medical and mental-health material, victim and witness details, certain juvenile and family information, and identifiers that must be redacted. Sealed or expunged material may be missing from the public portal too. A blank search result proves nothing about whether a case exists.

Verified party access works differently from ordinary public access. Someone seeking expanded access to their own case logs in with an Indiana Courts account and uses the "Is this your case?" process, then verifies by mail or through the clerk. The access code lasts 21 days. Verified access runs 180 days and renews with use. Even then, protected documents stay protected.

Remember that expanded access does not unlock everything.

When nothing appears. Refine the Fulton County case search, check the identifier and court, then ask the clerk whether a public docket or redacted record is available.

Never ask court staff to reveal a protected address, birth date, treatment record, or sealed filing. If access is restricted, ask instead. Find out which rule or order controls it and what lawful request process applies to that Fulton County court record.
